WALKING HOLIDAY:
This1is two days of walking, based in Castlebar, on a weekend of your choice.
It's about shaking away the blues and getting out into the wild, wet and wonderful county Mayo countryside. It's about subjecting yourself to the full power of the West of Ireland in all its seasons. It's about letting nature dominate you for two days. It's about being alive and not being in control.
You'll Get Out & About in the professional hands Barry Murphy, Director of Tourism Pure. www.tourismpure.com He has many years of experience, a wealth of stories, and great company! Barry is an official walking tour provider on DiscoverIreland.ie. He is among only 50 operators registered at http://www.discoverireland.ie/Walking/Walking-Operators.aspx
Paul and Gerardine will be on hand as well, and we are looking forward to walking away the recessionary blues with you.
Itinerary:

Friday
Arrive in Castlebar by 20.00hr, meet and get to know each other over for dinner. Afterwards, we might take in a drink in one of Castlebar's many pubs. (less than 10 minutes walk to the centre of town)

Saturday
4 hours gentle walking around Moore Hall, a ruined ‘big house’ and adjoining Lough Carra, a gem among the many lakes of County Mayo. This is a wonderfully tranquil and serene place in the middle of the Plains of Mayo.

Sunday
4 hours walk on The Bangor Trail, surely Ireland’s most remote and isolated way marked way. This trail brings us in to the very heart of rural, wet, wild and mountainous west Mayo. The place is a pure joy, where we experience the trail in its full grandeur, battered by the North Atlantic weather, its wind and rain.
Return to and departure from Castlebar around 16.00hr.
Accommodation:
You will stay in Lough Lannagh Lodge AA 3 star guest accommodation, in Castlebar town. Rooms are twin / double. Single rooms are available for a supplement.
Included:
2 nights bed and breakfast in twin / double room (single supplement applies). 2 home cooked dinners prepared from local ingredients by Paul. 2 energy packed lunches, and of course, a whole lot of outdoor fun! Full use of Lough Lannagh’s Fitness Centre with gym, sauna and steam room. A drying room is also freely available. You will be able to shower again after the walk on Sunday, should you wish to do so. Drinks are not included.
Essential:
Waterproofs - You will need a good hiking jacket and ankle high boots.
Clothing - Bring a change of clothing and footwear for each day.
Enthusiasm - Bring lots of it !
REMEMER THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS BAD WEATHER, JUST THE WRONG CLOTHES!

The weekend is priced at Euro €199.00 per person sharing, or Euro €219.00 for a single occupancy room.
